I first worked for World Duty Free at Heathrow as a part-time student. I loved the atmosphere and once I'd finished my degree I joined full time, initially as a CSA before being selected for the trainee Leader scheme. I have never had so much focus on my development in my entire life and felt supported throughout it all. My first role as a leader was as part of the team that opened the new store in Heathrow Terminal 2. Then, after 6 months as a leader an opportunity opened up in Head Office for a role related to my degree (Surveying) which I was encouraged to apply for by my manager. I am now using my degree to help develop World Duty Free locations throughout the UK. I think WDF is a fantastic place to work. The company understands the importance of promoting and developing people internally which is great as you retain people who know your business and who have a passion for company.
