Motor Vehicle Technician – Glasgow – Package upto £30,000

You could scroll through 100’s of Mechanic adverts online and they could all be the same, same type of work, same hours, same salary.  We promise that we’re different.  At Northgate our Vehicle Technicians work on the most recognisable brands out there, including Mercedes, Ford and Vauxhall.  You’ll have access to industry leading training, both in-house and through the different manufacturers we work with.  You’ll work in a really vibrant location alongside a team that are passionate about the quality of their work.  You’ll also get the opportunity to redress your work-life balance too as the hours in Glasgow are really attractive.  We’re the future of vehicle rental, and we want you to be a part of it.

As a Motor Vehicle Technician for Northgate you’ll carry out both electrical and mechanical work on a wide range of light commercial vehicles.  You’ll use our manufacturer diagnostic equipment to identify and repair any faults.  You’ll also carry out technical maintenance, repair and replace parts, as well as preparing our vehicles for MOT.

For you to be a success in this role all you’ll need is to be technically trained (level 3 ) or to be a time served mechanic that has worked in a similar environment on similar types of vehicles.  You’ll also need a full driving license and to be a team player and passionate about the needs of our customers.

So what’s in it for you? ...

We’re offering a basic salary of up to £27,000, as well as approved overtime at time-and-a-half, you’ll also get a generous productivity bonus offering up to £1,200, meaning your total package is worth £30,000

We operate a genuinely great shift pattern of  Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.30pm and 1.30pm to 10.00pm plus Saturday mornings 8-12 on a rota basis. so you’ll even be able to do the school drop off and pick-ups in alternate weeks too.

You’ll have access to an amazing training programme, both in-house and manufacturer provided, as well as insurance for your tools, 31 days holiday (inc bank holidays), company pension, life assurance as well as access to our new employee benefits scheme – Northgate Fuel.

We’re passionate about your development and we’re proud that a number of our Workshop Managers and Controllers joined us “on the tools”.  The industry is changing at a huge pace, and we want to be the ones leading it.
