Salary: Starting salary of £43,926.95 (including shift pay and chargehand payment)       


Depending on qualification, knowledge, skills and experience, once all training competencies are met the salary will go up to £46,899.21


Hours of work: Day and night shifts across a 4-week rotating shift pattern:


Day Shift:    Week 1: 7am – 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thur off)


                     Week 2: 7am – 7pm Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)


Night Shift:  Week 3: 7pm – 7am - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thur off)


                      Week 4: 7pm – 7am Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

The job role:


Joining our experienced team, you’ll be carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs and breakdown resolutions on fixed plant equipment.


The more common activities include, but are not limited to:


  • Carrying out diagnostics
  • Fault finding and repairs on electrical panels and instrumentation
  • Supporting other Imerys sites in Cornwall
  • Sourcing / ordering materials
  • Being responsible for time sheets and holidays 
  • Ensuring prioritised tasks are being dealt with and making necessary changes to the priority plan if required.


The role will include working from height and in confined spaces.

You will:


Your maintenance engineering background will be from within a production/ heavy industrial environment with electrical and mechanical experience of fixed processing plant and equipment. You’ll also need to:


  • Have an NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance
  • Have experience of pumps, centrifuges, burners/furnaces/gas as well as welding skills.  
  • Legally able to drive in the UK
  • Good IT skills
  • High level of health, safety and environmental knowledge and awareness
