Location – Nanpean – Cornwall (Imerys - Quarry Close) 

Hours of work – 37.5 Monday to Friday 

Salary – £26.279

Contract type – 6 months (FTC)

Your role – As a Geologist Technician you will support the the drilling activities within the UK Hub geology function. The Geology Technician will work in line with Imerys Safety standards, with well-defined timelines, responsibilities and a clear method of measuring improvement and performance.


Your responsibilities include; 

  • Drilling, 
  • Geological mapping,
  • Sampling,
  • Handle and manage the drill core,
  • Prepare the core for logging and sampling,  
  • Setting-up holes, 
  • Drill rig coordination,
  • Picking up collar locations.

You will: 

  • Have a positive attitude towards the work which can be repetitive and exposed to all weathers, work as part of a team and ideally have the following; 
  • Degree level qualified in Science or Engineering - Geology or Mining Geology 
  • Direct and relevant experience in working on drilling campaign activities 
  • Full clean driving licence or other means of transportation to get to and from work.
  • Self-sufficient and self-motivated with the capability to plan and take personal responsibility for undertaking a range of designated tasks without direct supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships of mutual respect at all levels in a challenging working environment.
