We at The Huntercombe Group, are looking for a new member of our multidisciplinary team, a Tracheostomy trained Nurse. You will be the primary nurse for inpatient stay, providing care to clients following an acquired brain injury or a neurological condition with complex care needs including tracheostomies & vents. You will work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to ensure individuals needs are maintained and supported through to progression onto rehabilitation or longer-term care.

As a Tracheostomy trained Nurse, we require you to uphold the NMC code of professional conduct, protecting and supporting vulnerable adults. You will be experienced in assessing the needs of the patients and developing and implementing their individual care plans. Maintaining a precise line of communication with the multidisciplinary teams and compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983/2007, safeguarding procedures and equality and diversity policies is essential.

To be considered as our Tracheostomy Nurse you will need:

  • Registered Nurse status
  • Current NMC registration
  • Tracheostomy care experience
  • Clean enhanced DBS

The Fernwood Unit in Nottingham provides longer term care for clients who following an acquired brain injury or a neurological condition require support with complex care needs including tracheostomies, vents and a much higher level of care. The multidisciplinary team work in partnership to ensure that outcomes are achieved for individuals where possible to ensure the clients complex care needs are maintained. When clients do progress they are supported to move onto Millwood for further rehabilitation as part of the recovery package or Rosewood if the identified need is for a longer term service.
