Hours of work: 37.5 per week rotational shift pattern:


Week 1: Monday to Friday - 6am to 2pm


Week 2: Monday to Friday - 2pm to 10pm

The job role:


A processing mill operative is a hands-on role, ensuring that raw materials are converted into final products through precise control of machinery.


  • Operate and monitor milling machinery to ensure efficient production and quality output
  • Operating a Forklift in a safe manner
  • In-line testing to monitor the moisture content of the ball clay
  • Startup and shut down of the milling plant
  • Use of other mobile plant equipment – front end loading shovels
  • Meeting production targets
  • Carry out site cleaning and promote good housekeeping practices
  • Follow health and safety guidelines

You will:


  • Bring motivation, drive and enthusiasm as this is a very hands-on role. In addition, you’ll:
  • Hold Full and valid UK driving licence
  • Possess a Forklift licence for at least 12 months
  • Understand health and safety in the workplace
  • Have the willingness to learn and drive other mobile plant equipment (front end loading shovel)
  • Possess basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills
