Solicitor – Military Injury Claims
Location: North West of England (Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds)
Experience Level: 4+ years PQE
Salary & Benefits: Great starting salary (DOE/PQE) 27 days annual leave with the option to buy/sell up to 5 days, option to work abroad for up to 4 weeks per year, hybrid working arrangements, visit the office once per month, pension, bonus and health, wellbeing and retail discounts.


Are you an experienced Solicitor ready to lead complex, high-value military injury cases? We’re looking for a driven legal professional with deep knowledge of military claims and a proactive approach to business development to join our growing Military team at Simpson Millar.


What You’ll Do:


  • Manage a varied caseload of military injury matters with a focus on serious, high-value claims.

  • Conduct your own advocacy where appropriate, contributing to the successful resolution of cases.

  • Actively market and develop the Military department - both locally and nationally - building partnerships and driving referrals from established channels.

  • Use your knowledge of relevant forms, protocols, and civil procedure to conduct cases efficiently and in line with firm policies.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements including data protection and anti-money laundering procedures.

  • Support and participate in firm-wide business development and marketing initiatives, including website content and networking activity.



What We’re Looking For:


  • A minimum of 4 years’ PQE with proven experience managing a military injury caseload.

  • Strong interest and ability in advocacy and litigation strategy.

  • Demonstrable business development and marketing skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with referral organisations.

  • Excellent legal knowledge, particularly in military matters and personal injury protocols.

  • Tech-savvy with solid experience using case management systems and legal databases.

  • Highly organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Empathetic and confident in dealing with clients from all backgrounds, providing a high standard of client care.
