At Simpson Millar, we're looking for a Legal Risk Assessor to join our Success Team – the legal gateway for all new client enquiries. You’ll be responsible for assessing the viability and risk of clinical negligence enquiries, guiding the firm’s case selection, and influencing operational decisions across the business.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Assess the legal and commercial viability of new Clinical Negligence enquiries (no caseloads, no billing targets)
  • Review self-accepted cases to ensure they meet our risk and quality standards
  • Collaborate with lawyers and senior advisors to guide client onboarding decisions
  • Share feedback and support with the Contact Centre team to help them identify strong prospects
  • Provide insights into case trends to support marketing and operational strategy
  • Help refine internal processes to improve case conversion and legal outcomes

 

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Hands-on experience in Clinical Negligence casework (essential)
  • A background as a Fee Earner, Legal Executive, Case Handler or Paralegal
  • A strong understanding of case viability, risk assessment, and claim strength
  • Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
  • Comfort using digital tools and case management systems
  • A desire to stay legally engaged, but in a more strategic, commercial role
