Simpson Millar is one of the nation’s leading consumer law firms and we are looking for an experienced MOJ Portal Fee Earner to join our Fast Track EL/PL team on a permanent basis.

This is a fee-earning role processing Portal claims in an efficient and effective manner through to conclusion. Taking advantage of the beneficial and supportive working environment and focused case management tools available.

This role is on a hybrid working arrangement with up to 2days per week in either our Leeds, Liverpool, or Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dealing with a caseload of fast-track EL/PL cases.
  • Dealing with stages 1 (Investigation), 2 (Negotiation) and 3 (Litigation) of the Claims Portal process.
  • Liaising with client and third parties to process claims within the legislative timeframes.
  • Gathering and submitting any medical evidence to support claims.
  • Negotiation of most beneficial settlement where appropriate.
  • Preparing claim evidence for Court proceedings.
  • It would be desirable if you have experience using Proclaim.
Ideally, you’ll have at least 1 year’s MOJ Portal experience and a strong billing record, but really, we’re really looking for someone who is adaptable, can prioritise, is willing to participate in the development and success of the department (and wider firm), and is hard working and conscientious.
