Location: North of England (Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds) is preferable, but the role is mostly remote.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Negligence Team Leader to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services to clients, managing resources effectively, and promoting the professional development of team members.

As an experienced Team Leader you will be responsible for the performance and day-to-day operation of the team and the direct supervision and management of its fee earners.

You will drive performance and operational excellence through  1-2-1's and performance reviews to ensure that all processes and practices are being adhered to and  key performance indicators are being met / exceeded by all team members.

You will be the technical expert in the team and look to guide and assist team members on issues that arise during their cases lifecycles so as to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. 

You will also ensure that the team is delivering great client service and performing in line with expected goals and targets in an established, forward-thinking Legal 500 firm.

As an experienced Clinical Negligence Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring that Clinical Negligence processes, ways of working and lifecycles are adopted and adhered to
  • Direct supervision and management of fee earners in conjunction with Head of Department
  • Conducting regular 1-2-1s in line with the Communication Support Cycle framework
  • Conducting necessary supervisor file reviews
  • KPI performance monitoring including data integrity, inactivity levels, chargeable hours, unpaid bills, lifecycles and revenue targets
  • Assisting in compiling forecast data for monthly billing targets and Doorway Uploads in conjunction with the Head of Department
  •  Assisting in the Departments annual budgeting process
  • Assisting with Departmental projects in relation to system development and improved Management Information
  • Completion of day to day supervision and automated tasks for the team driven from within the case management system
  • Run and maintain a reduced case load
  • Manage and investigate complaints in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Peer review and supervision meetings
  • Carrying out projects for the Head of Department as and when required
  • Authorising the issuing of proceedings and disbursements for the team
  • Maintaining the risk register for your individual team.
  • Actively involved in departmental business development, including producing and checking web content, articles, SEO content, sourcing new work opportunities, promoting internal cross referrals, etc
  • Working with the Learning & Development Department identify areas of improvement and development for members of their team.  
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
  • Grade A Solicitor or equivalent.
  • Accreditation is desirable or working towards
  • Previous management experience
  • An ability to deal with clients in a sensitive, professional and competent way
  • An ability to work on your own initiative within a team environment to achieve results
  • Excellent IT skills, which include the ability to work with a case management system and databases
  • Have empathy and good listening skills
  • A friendly, co-operative and collaborative approach to clients and colleagues
