This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced solicitor who has prior experience of public law, community care or claims against public authorities to join our award winning, Chambers Ranked Public Law Department. We are very happy to talk to people with varying levels of PQE who are able to reflect an interest and experience in this area of law.

Our Public Law and Human Rights team is focused on London, Bristol and Manchester and we would consider applications from solicitors wishing to work from any of those three locations.

You will be joining an established and friendly team who do a mix of public law, community care, claims against public authorities and inquest work including representing victims of trafficking, vulnerable migrants, unaccompanied minors, looked after children and care leavers in judicial review proceedings and civil claims.

Prior experience of legal aid is required.

The role is a split working from home/office-based role with flexibility as to the balance between the two. We will consider both full-time and part-time applicants and offer the ability to work flexibly.

The successful candidate needs to have the ability to manage and run with their own caseload although we offer excellent training and supervision as well as the opportunity to progress.

Any potential salary offer will be made based upon your PQE level and our expected annual fee income target. It is likely therefore that those who are currently at the lower end of our ideal PQE level, if successful, will receive an offer at the lower end of our range. Likewise, those who hold greater PQE or relevant pre-qualification experience and have a track record of achieving a fee income level commensurate with our expected annual target, are able to receive higher offers.

We are actively committed to increasing the diversity of our firm and to breaking down the barriers that prevent many from entering the legal profession. We welcome applications from all sections of the community and encourage applications from individuals who are under-represented within the profession.
