We have a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Advisor to join an our highly regarded Wealth Preservation team.


In this role you will support our lawyers to advise clients on a range of matters, including preparation of annual trust accounts and Tax Returns, managing the completion of personal Tax Returns for beneficiaries, assisting the probate division in dealing with tax affairs, preparing capital gains tax returns and calculating liabilities to inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax.

Main duties include:

  • Supporting and working closely with our Head of Tax and Trusts.
  • Preparing Trust & Estate Self-Assessment tax returns and personal tax returns using the firm’s software (CCH), for review by a senior member of the team.
  • Managing all related correspondence with clients, HMRC and third parties as required.
  • Managing the completion of personal tax returns for a range of HNW individuals.
  • Assisting the Wealth Preservation team in dealing with tax affairs to date of death, Estate Returns.
  • Completing tax returns for Trusts and Estates, for review by a senior member of staff. Preparing ad hoc advisory work.
  • Finalise correspondence with clients and HMRC to explain technical issues in an easily understandable manner;
  • Dealing with the day-to-day administration on client files, including filing Trust and Estate tax returns and diarising & arranging payment of tax liabilities by due dates and considering how the liabilities will be paid.

Our ideal candidate will be looking to build on their existing experience of Trust and Estate administration, ideally being full- / part-qualified Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) or Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)


We are looking for a candidate that has a good understanding of the tax position of individuals, all trust structures and estates and actively maintain your technical knowledge.


We are flexible as to where you gained your tax and trusts experience be that from an accountancy firm, tax boutique or from another law firm.


Regardless of the sector, your experience will include personal income tax compliance and planning, Capital Gains Tax compliance and planning as well as Trust and Estates accounting and taxation.


Greenwoods places importance on our client relationships, so you must be commercially astute with a client-focused attitude. A key part of the role will be to create and deliver new work for the team. You will have excellent business development skills to market our existing capability in this area and grow our client base.


We offer hybrid working with 3 days in the office 2 days WFH
