Monday to Friday – 38.5 hours per week

Our client SMT are looking for a motivated individual to lead their well-established and professional team of engineers in Horsham. The role requires a hands-on approach, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

As a Senior Workshop Engineer, you will lead and oversee the daily operations of the workshop, provide technical expertise, maintain a safe and efficient working environment as well as supervising a team of technicians, coordinating tasks ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard.

The Role:

• Lead and supervise a team of workshop technicians
• Coordinate daily tasks
• Carry out and oversee the maintenance, repair and servicing of Volvo plant machinery
• Conduct quality checks
• Implement and enforce health and safety
• Carry out machine inspection and quotes

Requirements:

• A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics or related field
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the heavy construction plant industry
• Strong technical knowledge and expertise in diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electronics
• Proven leadership/management experience
• Health and Safety knowledge and experience
• Proficient Computer skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK without the requirement of sponsorship
