Position: Workshop Engineer  

Location: Horsham 

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (38.5 hours per week)

Are you an experienced Workshop or Field Engineer with a passion for heavy mobile plant machinery? Our client, a leading name in Volvo construction and material handling equipment, is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join their team in Horsham.

About the Role:

As a Workshop Engineer at SMT GB, you’ll be at the forefront of service excellence, responsible for:

• Servicing, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on Volvo construction equipment
• Installing software updates to ensure optimal machine performance
• Accurately completing paperwork and ordering parts as necessary
• Maintaining strict health and safety compliance

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Land-Based Engineering, or HGV Mechanics
• Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant machinery
• Strong technical skills in diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics, and electronics
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
