DHL Global Forwarding UK are looking for a Customs Bureau Clerk to join their fast-paced Customs Team in Hayes, Greater London. This is a 12 month FTC, full time, Mon-Fri position with an immediate start subject to referencing and employment checks. You will be working the 2pm-10pm late shift.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for coordinating customs entries for the shipment of goods including, managing full custom declarations for both imports and exports within strict timescales

You will transmit declarations to HMRC to align with customer requirements and internal KPIs

Using your excellent interpersonal skills you will deliver frequent communication to customers, freight forwarders, hauliers, and DHL internal stakeholders, promoting excellent customer service and engagement

You will demonstrate your ability to problem solve through managing critical customer requirements

You will maintain all customs entries files both electronically and hard copies for certification

What experience do you need?       

• knowledge of UK customs requirements including required documentation
• experience working within the logistics industry, ideally freight forwarding as well as customs entry experience         
• computer skills including basic-intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office    
• excellent customer service and communication skills        
• You must be process driven with great attention to detail
