Operations and Customer Service Agent

You will be a valued member of our freight forwarding operations, serving our clients across various industries.
This role presents an opportunity for you to bring your previous experience in logistics and apply it within one of the global leaders in the freight forwarding industry. Drawing upon your expertise, you will be responsible for seamlessly creating, overseeing, and maintaining freight shipments through the Cargowise system.
This is a full time, Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm position, working within our Belfast office.

Your role as an Operations and Customer Service Agent:
- Prepare and manage all necessary documents related to air freight shipments, including bills of lading, air waybills, customs forms, and certificates of origin.
- Monitor the movement of freight in transit, providing real-time updates to customers and colleagues
- Facilitate the customs clearance process, ensuring compliance with export regulations and liaising with customs authorities
- Maintain effective communication with clients, carriers and handling agents to ensure smooth freight operations
- Verify the accuracy of all shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of insurance
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the shipping process, such as delays, damages, or customs holdups
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, providing shipment status updates, and offering solutions to customer concerns
About you - you will have:
- Previous experience in an operational role within logistics
- Proven experience in effectively managing business-to-business (B2B) customer relationships
- A good knowledge of Import or/and Export processes, particularly in airfreight would be advantageous
- A high attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and manage workload
