Part of the Dental Partners group our Matlock practice has a unique opening for a Hygienist/Therapist with excellent customer care skills.  


The role

As Dental Hygienist/Therapist you’ll be providing dental hygiene care to a wide range of patients, helping them to maintain their oral health whilst promoting its importance. Evaluating patients’ medical history and carrying out necessary examinations and giving appropriate patient advice you’ll be involved in a wide variety of oral health care activity such as:

  • Liaising with dentists over the treatment of caries, periodontal disease and tooth wear
  • Undertake supragingival and subgingival scaling and root surface debridement
  • Use appropriate anti-microbial therapy to manage plaque related diseases
  • Take intra and extra-oral photographs
  • Give infiltration and inferior dental block analgesia
  • Place temporary dressings and re-dement crowns with temporary cement
  • Take impressions, care of implants and treatment of peri-implant tissues
  • Identify anatomical features, recognise abnormalities and interpret common pathology
  • Keep full, accurate and contemporaneous patient records

Skills requirements

Our patients depend on us for their clinical care and we aim to deliver the deliver the best professional dental care that is; friendly, compassionate and caring.  Successful candidates must be GDC registered, have an active performer number and have experience of providing NHS dental care in the UK.

You'll also:  

  • possess a diploma or degree in dental hygiene and therapy
  • have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • work with an empathetic and caring approach
  • have good time management and organisational skills
  • be mindful of the need for patient confidentiality
